Sssshhhh. I believe I am finally in the green zone after 9 months.

Recommended Posts

I had a scare of a band malfunction two months ago, I was not loosing weight and eating a lot (more than 1/2 of a cup is a lot for me), after I was checked with a fluoroscopy, doctor gave me a fill and I've been loosing, I even went on vacation and I still manage to loose. I was getting stuck a lot but I saw the video 8 rules for the lap band and. I learn how to eat then someone else suggested an application to control how fast you eat and I been using it. I love my band and I love this forums even if I don't post as often as before.

I am so happy !

True Results actually provides us with a book written by Mr. O'Brien, the gentleman in the videos. It's title is The Lap-Band Solution A Partnership for Weight Loss. He covers a lot of the principle information there. If you have access to the book, the rules are in chapter 11 pg 219-233.

Good for you! It took a whopping 18 months to get to the green zone. I was beginning to think it would never happen but it has and I'm very grateful! I can't worry about the poor people starving anymore lol . If I can't eat anymore I stop no matter how much is left on my plate. Yes, I grew up in an era where my parents told me it was a sin to waste food. Well I'm listening to myself now and not my parents who are long gone but it still sticks in my head how they used to lecture me. Lol!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
