Hello all! Just received my information packet and appointment for free WL seminar, also just got my doctors approval. Wanting Gastric Bypass as I am overweight with many health problems, one being type II diabetes. Hopefully I can get approved and get things started. Anyone know what blood sugar level do surgeons consider good when deciding who is a eligible for having the surgery ? My levels run high and I am trying to get it down. Does this question make sense at all?

My surgeon required my A1C be 7.0 for surgery.

I got it down to 6.9 in time for surgery.

As of March of this year my A1C was 4.7.

So Bypass really works well for eliminating diabetes.

Good luck with your decision and surgery.
