Jersrose43 837 Posted July 15, 2014 Was told I can do Special K as part of soft foods. I haven't yet. Started soft foods today and started with oatmeal.
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted July 15, 2014 Weeks out, on soft foods, I totally wanted crunch berries, so I let em soak and get soggy and ate every bite....they were delightful. They my reactive hypoglycemia kicked in and I ended up laying on the bathroom floor shaking with a horrible headache, feeling like I was gonna puke,
Lite'N'Sweet 60 Posted July 15, 2014 OH MY... that was an M. Night Shyamalan ending to that story.... I was all warm and fuzzy feeling good that you had your mushy crunch berries then.... WHAMO!! Sorry that happened to you. 1 Who Dat 70461 reacted to this
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted July 15, 2014 Turns out, I'm a dumper ;P I now know I can steal a bite or two of my son's cereal but no more! Yet another lesson learned the hard way!!! 1 Lite'N'Sweet reacted to this
ladykatie_ 117 Posted July 15, 2014 Wellll, almost 8 weeks out and I tried a small bowl of Protein Cheerios and a little milk... it made me so full and kind of upset my stomach. I think it's safe when you are cleared to try all food.< /p>
RNBSN786 206 Posted July 15, 2014 After a month from my surgery I started to have Special K high Protein cereal with soy milk. I am 3.5 months out and I have had it maybe a handful of times. I try to just have yogurt and avoid cereal and soy all together. I also don't drink regular milk. No need for it and also our bodies don't break down the sugars in the milk very much. So I stay away from it.
Chelly 364 Posted July 15, 2014 Kay's Natural cereal has 12g of Protein and when you add a half of a cup of milk it comes up to 16g of protein in that meal. They are tasty and so are their Snacks. The snacks have 12g of protein in them per serving. Vitacost.com has the best price on Kay's Naturals products.
enjoyinglife 313 Posted July 15, 2014 I started eating 1 oz of dry cereal around the 12 week post-op mark. As of now, I can eat 1 oz of cereal with about 4 oz of milk. I love starting my day off this way. 1 Lite'N'Sweet reacted to this
millergirl314 168 Posted July 15, 2014 I'm almost 4 months out and I love having my cereal again. The Special K Red Berries hits the spot for me, 1/2 cup of real milk and I'm good to go :-) as long as the cereal gets soft and isn't sweetened it usually sits ok with my tummy. That sweet stuff is a no go :-)
