I'm a year and a half out and I have only lost 85lbs. I have not gained any and I don't over eat and I am very active. I'm scared I'm stuck at the weight I'm at. I need to get another 45 lbs off to be what I consider healthy and successful. Staying motivated is extremely hard when I am all alone at this...alone any suggestions?

Don't give up! I am with you. Four months without a pound lost for me. I have kept up or increased my exercise and finally the weight is moving again. Keep your fluids up and your exercise vigorous. Your weight will move again. Also check the veterans page and look for posts about the 5:2 diet. Many of the veteran sleeves swear it was their secret to getting the scales moving again

I have to share that once I limited my sugar grams to less than 25g a day weight just comes off. Slowly but off. I allow myself 50 total sugar grams to account for sugar in Greek yogurt and any milk sugars. I use dannon Greek 80 calorie yogurt and mix it with fage to get tons of Protein. I strive for at least 80g Protein a day.

I also added strength training so built muscle.

this has gotten me too the finish. I lost 110 lbs in 9 months and this change got me the

next 25 in 6 more months.

I don't worry about fat or other carbs too much. my diet is usually 45-50% fat a day. my losing calories were 1300 a day. I am 5-10 but I think it is best for most people to eat at least 1200 to avoid deficiencies. just my opinion though.

good luck.

Lindsey, you're not alone! That's the only thing I want to add to the suggestions above. Keep posting, keep reading, keep sharing, and you'll get through this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
