The main goal of bypass for me was to cure my diabetes. I am 6 days post op and my morning sugars are around 220. Later in the day they go down to150 or so. I am on sliding scale insulin, very minimal. So what can I expect the progression to be in seeing the diabetes going away.

My last A1C was 4.7 in March and at one time in the past it was 9.8.

When I had my surgery I was on Victoza shots and those for me stopped the day of surgery and didn't have to use it any more. At the time of surgery my A1C was 6.9.

So if I'm any example you most likely will go off your insulin or at least take very little.

Good luck with you, here's to feeling great and also healthy.

I'm 7 days post op and my sugars have been running a little high as well. I am still taking Janunet 50/1000 twice a day. Keep me posted.

Are you swallowing those huge pills? ! Or does it come in liquid? I was on the same, been off since a week before, I am on sliding scale insulin, not usually more then 2 or 4 units. My Dr's office says to be patient all in good time. Fingers crossed!

Yes I'm swallowing the pills, it's not bothering me at all. Just hoping to see the outcome much quicker. Good luck and fingers crossed.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
