Take many meds for depression, bipolar OCD and Xanax. I was taken by ambulance this week when as was explained to me, I was mentally gone with dangerously low bp. Ct scan showed nothing nor did bloodwork. I've lost 61 lbs in 12 weeks...could my meds be too much for me? I've been battling nausea badly since surgery. Thank you!

Please call your doctor Kim for advice on the meds. We are not medical professionals. My husband suffered low BP following the sleeve, but it was a short period of time. Over all, our bodies are adjusting to a lot of things. We have BP issues, and diabetes, and everyone here has a lost of issues that weight causes, usually. If your surgeon is not responsive to your needs please see your PCP. Our PCP is always available, not the surgeon! Best of luck, Linda

Sleeved on 6/17. I can't say it is the medication. I have 3 meds for depression/anxiety/etc from a psychiatrist. She was very adamant that I must continue to take my prescribed dosages as scheduled. She said it is dangerous to not have your meds because of how imbalanced you can become and with such a life altering process, you don't need to be without.

I chose sleeve over band because the band opening gets so small with fills. I made that decision with all my doctors.

My son was murdered two weeks before going to college three years ago. It took me 1 & 1/2 to stop being suicidal and start living again for the rest of my family who has missed their brother and son and wife and mother too.

But I attribute part of my healing to the medications. My doctor has said I will most likely be on them for many years to come.

Just because your size has changed doesn't mean your mind needs less of the dose you have been medically prescribed.

Please contact all of your doctors concerning not feeling well and together you can find what can help.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
