penman53 493 Posted July 13, 2014 Well, I'm about a week and a half away from my one year surgery anniversary. My starting weight was 387 pounds. When I got on the scales this morning for my weekly weigh in an whala the scale told me that I weighed 196 pounds. That's 200 pounds in about one year. I am so stoked. I went for years being obese, adding more and more co morbidities, adding more drugs, for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiomyopathy, kidney disease and not to mention chronic back pain and COPD. Now with one year in my sights, literally all of these problems are either gone or remission. I am so thankful for my surgical team, my wife and children and the support of my co workers for my success. I wish you all continued success in your weight loss journey. penman53 493 Posted July 13, 2014 Hi Mike 4235506. I followed my doctors instructions to the letter when it came to my prep. I was told that they had changed it from 2 weeks to 10 days because so many people complained about how hard it was. I told them that it was easy for me to put on 200 pounds of excess weight. I went on the liquid diet for 3 weeks and didn't hesitate. I looked at my weight loss surgery as a new lease on life. I wasn't given a good prognosis at all when it came to my longevity. I sincerely hope that you Mike attack this with a vengeance because you will be given the opportunity to succeed. We all here on this site want you to do well. I have a lot of skin on my belly that kind of bothers me. My arms and legs are ok. But I would really like to get rid of the belly skin. I may look into it but I don't really think that I want to spend that much money. What the heck, I'm 60 almost 61 years old. But I am going to start working out at the YMCA finally since I got my cardiac clinic and it would be nice to firm up the old belly. I would like to look better with a tucked in shirt. I didn't care how I looked for years. But now I find myself looking in the mirror a little longer every time I get dressed. I want to look good now. It makes a big difference after you lose the weight. Good luck Mike 1 mike4235506 reacted to this
