Girly24 22 Posted July 13, 2014 I had my gastric sleeve July 10. The hardest part was dealing with the shoulder gas. To anyone having the surgery soon Please walk!! It's so important. I came home July 11th and I feel a bit more comfy in bed but I do continue to walk around my house. I even started my menstrual which has been months since I had my period. Has anyone else started there period after surgery? I drink my Isopure protien drink and also drink like 32 oz of Water which I need to drink more. But one thing I notice is I have cravings for regular solid food. Yesterday my family was over and the cooked and I wanted the food so bad. I know it's in my head but does anyone else feel this way ? I do drink half a cup of chicken broth
lylabelle 257 Posted July 13, 2014 I started my period at least 10 days earlier than normal. The head hunger is hard. You are only 3 days out so you have quite awhile until the real food. Its a tough few weeks but you are doing awesome on the water!
Girly24 22 Posted July 13, 2014 Will the hunger go away?
lylabelle 257 Posted July 13, 2014 Are your taking a prescription strength ppi? I don't every have real hunger. Wanting to eat is one thing, actual hunger is another. Many have stomach acid that mimics hunger, the ppi helps with that.

Tammylb 174 Posted July 13, 2014 PPI keeps your stomach from producing acid that could eat through your staples in your stomach.
belunos 93 Posted July 15, 2014 If it's not just acid, then there's a chance you'll stay hungry until you're on solid foods. I stayed hungry for over a month. It SUCKED hardcore, but I just had to suck it up.
