I am so sorry that happened to you. I can only imagine how you may feel. I agree though, maybe it was for a good reason that you'll never know. Hopefully soon enough they will get you situated and back on the calendar!

I thought I remembered you talking about your insurance before but I thought that was all cleared up. I am so sorry you had to go through that diet for nothing!

But as others have said, it may have happened that way for a reason.

Hugs!!!

You sound like you are leaving us.. don't leave... now more than ever you need our support and we need you too! I just got news that my insurance company is requiring me to do an extra 2 months in the program I am in, before they will even consider paying for the surgery. Which is frustrating and devastating as well, but for me, I am just going to push through it, eat healthier and get a better exercise regime in place. I hope you'll stay with us..

I am not going any where I love this group! It's awesome to know that I am not a lone. I am now doing 2 shakes a day along with a small meal.. Still going to push through with it..

Sorry you have 2 more months! I am taking this time to fine tune how life will be after the surgery

It happens right? Some of us hit a lot of bumps in the road along the way to this journey.. at least it gives me more time to prepare myself, lose some weight, go to some support group meetings and get my exercise routine in place.. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get rescheduled quickly!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
