Last time I went to costco they had liquid Vitamins that they were giving out samples for. They said they were more easily absorbed by the cells. It might have been this one:

Multivitamin,-64-Ounces.product.11677911.html" rel="external nofollow">http://www.costco.com/LIQUID-reViva%C2%AE-Multivitamin,-64-Ounces.product.11677911.html

In any event, I plan to get these for after the surgery, even if they are a little more expensive.

For the first week, I bought a liquid Multivitamin from Walgreens, their brand. It said it was cherry flavor, yet it was yellow!! it wasn't too bad but I actually like the chewable ones I got from Twin Labs Bariatric Support

Centrum has a good liquid adult version that you can get right at Wal-Mart or Target. it's likely that your aversion will eventually go away and you will be able to tolerate the chewables again, but until then a liquid would do...also, at around month 2-3 post op is when you are able to swallow whole Vitamins again.

I know everyone's program is different, but my surgeon said at 4 wks, I can take regular Vitamins, but to cut them in 1/2 until 8 weeks. I've started taking One A Day's gummies and I really don't mind them and will probably continue with them for now.

I'm 2 & 1/2 weeks out. I had a post op infection. They gave me "horse" pills for antibiotics. NO WAY I could swallow them. I use a little plastic pill crusher my wife got me at target. I then pour the powder into my Protein Shake. I never tast it. I've also put it in fat free pudding and applesauce. I would assume you could do the same with the chewable vitamins. If u get the liquid ones and don't like the taste, u could probably mix them in with crystal lite.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
