Traveling to Brisbane, need protein shakes..

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I am going to Brisbane (from the USA) to help get my son situated in college next week. I am on the pureed stage and wonder what Protein shakes you have and where do you get them from?

I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and order from their website, unjury.com. It comes both in larger containers and individual packets. I find the individual packets easier to carry around.

That being said, I'm really jealous of your trip. Have an awesome time!

Do any of the local grocery or health stores carry the ready to drink shakes? I really don't want to take anything over there but was hoping to find some while I am there. Out here I can find some Muscle Milk shakes at our local 7-11 type stores and gas station mini marts. My dr. gave me the okay to start the soft foods stage while there but I'd like to know there's a back up if needed.

Does Unjury have one that is unflavored? One that I can just add to yogurt or something? I really don't want to get into a habit of using a blender all the time and can't drink just shaken milk or Water added to powder type shakes, but if I can mask it into cottage cheese or yogurt without it tasting raunchy, I'd do it!

They do have an unflavored option. I confess that I haven't tried it. I don't mind mixing milk with the chocolate and vanilla. If you try it, let know how it is.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
