Hi, I was sleeved on 7/9 and also seem to have trouble focusing. I hope this is temporary.

Did either of you have the patch for nausea behind your ear? I've been sleeved over 3 years and didn't have a problem with focusing after that surgery, I didn't have the nausea patch with that either. I did, however, just have plastic surgery on july 1st. For the first few days I couldn't focus or see much up close. Far away was fine. It turned out it was the nausea patch behind my ear that was causing it. After I took it off I was fine after a 1/2 day or so. The anesthesiologist said that whatever is in the patch is the same thing that they use to dilate your pupils when you have an eye exam. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I just was discharged yesterday I had the scopalomine patch-- it gave me blurred vision ( it can cause your pupils to dialate). It also caused me to have bradycardia. My hr was never higher than 55 and at times was as low as 39. It is back to normal now that I'm not wearing the patch.

It's normal and most likely from anesthetics. I didn't have any patch and along with myself many have experienced this and it goes away

I had the scopolamine patch also! Sleeved 7/11, replaced patch on Mon 7/14 and my eyes became so blurry, couldn't focus it was horrible. I looked up side effects of the patch low and behold blurry vision was a known side effect! I removed patch on Wed 7/16, and rt away i was noticing my eyes were getting their clarity back!! Insane!

I only had to wear that patch for 1 day prior to surgery and 2 days after... Even though I said something about the blurry vision the nurse encouraged me to still wear it because the nausea it was preventing would be far worse than not being able to see my phone clearly

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
