GretchenInDE 6 Posted July 21, 2014 UPDATE TO 2-WEEK STALL: I met today with one of the nutritionists at Christiana PMRI, and she said a stall this soon is totally normal. She reviewed my FitnessPal food diary, and said I was doing great at 600 - 800 calories and over 60 grams of Protein a day. She said one month post-op, I'm still recuperating and detoxing the anesthesia (I'm also allergic to Dilaudid, and they insisted on giving it to me anyway). Because I'm still sleeping a lot (I go to bed at about 8-8:30 and sleep straight thru until morning, whereas my normal bed time pre-op was about 10:30) and am not moving with as much energy as I did pre-op, my body isn't burning what it will be in a couple of weeks. In addition, the stall seems to have passed, as of today. I got on the scale there and have lost 4 lbs. in the last 3 days. So, yay! I hope it's passing for everyone else, too! 1 vandies reacted to this

ColtonsMom 2 Posted July 22, 2014 I was sleeved June 24th. Have lost 18 pounds since surgery. I have been fortunate that I have not had any problems, however does seem like the pounds are not coming off as quickly as earlier in the process. I have been eating mostly cottage cheese, deli chicken or turkey, and eggs. This week and next week I can add fresh fruits (peeled), and veggies (cooked), cheese, Decaf coffee and decaf tea. Week 7 I should be able to eat mostly anything as long as my tummy will allow it. Prior to today, my Protein levels have been an average about 34-46g with calories for weeks 3 & 4 at 300-400 per day. At my 2 week post-op My surgeon said not to worry about the Protein too much at this time. Now this week though I need to focus on reaching the 60 to 80g. My calories should increase to 500-600 per day. That seems tough to achieve at this time, but will do my best. Exercise is getting easier, am anxious to start some light weight training, but decided to wait until after 6 weeks. I was riding my bike the beginning of week 3 on mostly flat surface with small hills for about 15 minutes, and have been able to comfortably ride my recumbent bike every day the past 2 weeks. Yesterday I started riding 15 minutes in the morning, and was able to do 30 minutes in the afternoon (a good book helps to through the time). One thing to think about, when you feel hungry try to figure out if you are actually hungry, or is it mind hunger. I really made myself hungry the other day. My husband and I are planning a trip to Missouri next month, so I was looking to see if some of the restaurants that I liked from my college years was sill open. Thinking about those really made me hungry. The mind will get you every time. This is a new journey for all of us, with each of our journeys being different. It is good to have the support of those that are going through the same experience. I too would like to have a private FB area to go to. As long as it doesn't come up on my FB page, as I have not told a lot of people about my surgery. I'm just a little FB ignorant on what shows up and what doesn't. Annekem 0 Posted July 22, 2014 I am a June 23 sleever. I've been in a stall for 13 days. Lost 21 prior to the stall. They should definitely warn you about stalls so you aren't in a complete panic like I was. It's nice to have the knowledge of others that have gone before us. Suzette McLellan 1 Posted July 22, 2014 Hi there! I was smiling all the way through this post! AMAZING that ALL sounds as if I worte it!! Almost everything is the same. I had my surgery in Tijuana with Dr. Elias Ortiz through A Lighter Me and I am sooo glad that I did! Energy is geting better daily! Keep posting!! I had my operation on June 26th. I would love to have others to talk with about my journey that were close to my same date. I'm in the pureed food stage right now. My first 2 weeks I lost a lot of weight really fast and now I'm in a stall, but I can tell I'm still loosing inches. I'm finding that I get full so fast and I'm not able to eat much and them I'm hungry again not far after I had eaten. I'm having a hard time getting all my liquids in and trying to get my Protein in as well. I have fibromyalsia and since this surgery I've felt the best I have in a over a year. Tons of energy, my nerve pain is now only about 20%. With so much energy I'm finding that I'm struggling going to sleep at night. My sense of smell ever since the surgery has been very heightened not sure why though. Looking forward to journey!!! 1 wildivy reacted to this

PrettyGal27 30 Posted July 23, 2014 I was sleeved on June 24th and I have also hit a stall. I'm on regular foods and I feel like I eat more than I should be able to, even though I know I don't. Maybe this is normal. We have the rest of our lives to lose all the weight we've put on over the years so, it's cool. I'm down 20lbs since surgery. I'll just be happy for that! Haha
New Beginning7171 2 Posted July 23, 2014 I had my surgery on June25th. Things are going good. Just keep in mind your body is in shock and is still trying to figure out what you have done. I have a friend that had it done in November last year and stalling is part of the journey. Keep moving forward and just think you are loosing and don't want to loose to fast. Keep doing what you are doing and move forward. This is what I'm telling myself. If you never did your measurements do them. That is where I really see a difference. Down 20 since surgery but about 30 inches total. Be positive with yourself. You will get there. ????
7.14.14Sleever 8 Posted July 23, 2014 I was told ahead of time that there is a stall at or about the 3 week mark. Looks like several of you are there.... But I am only 9 days out and for the last 4 days NOTHING has moved on the scale... Frustrating since I am still in the clear liquid stage ....

Sassypants92201 76 Posted July 24, 2014 I was sleeved June 9th. I started at 208 and I've been at 188 for almost four weeks. I'm having a hard time right now. I have gone back to Protein Shakes and Water only. I do T 25 every morning and I'm very active.
skjerstad 4 Posted July 24, 2014 I really look forward to everyone's post. I've finally came out of my 2 week stall and I'm now down 36 pounds. I got on the scale and literally lost 11 pounds just like that. I could tell I was loosing inches but the scale wasn't moving or if it did it was a pound a week. My advice to everyone, is keep on truckin, stay the course and the weight will fall off. I wanted to give an update on my journey with my Fibromyalgia as well. I've been walking almost everyday for 30 minutes or so, or when I can doing exercises in the pool. My fibromyalgia has acted up a little, but I'm thinking its because I'm finally able to give my body some exercise and its just sore and not used to the exercise I'm giving it. I figure a little bit of pain in my feet and legs is worth feeling great and losing weight. I've still been really tired, but I try to get a good nights sleep each night, but I find its hard to fall asleep because I'm so antzy.
