Weight Loss and Tattoos

Recommended Posts

I have question for those of you with tatoos that lost a lot of weight...how did it effect your tattoos?? I have a tattoo on my inner ankle and i'm afraid when I lose a lot of weight its going to get all wobbly looking! Anyone have issues with their tattoos post-weight loss??

Thank you!!

I have tattoos on my right bicep and left calf. So far I have not noticed any difference really but those are areas where I don't have a lot of lose skin. As my weight loss progresses maybe it will be different.

I'm 5'0" and down 60 lbs. My BMI has dropped over 10 points! I have one tatt between my shoulder blades & it looks exactly the same, so far.

Almost 50 pounds gone for me and my pretty tattoo on my ankle is the same and amazingly. The one that I have on my left breast looks better tighter clear.

i would think boob and maybe low back tattoos and maybe upper arm tattoos would change a little, depending on how much over weight and loose skin a person has. only have one tat on my ankle and so far so good.

Thanks for this post! I've been thinking of getting a tattoo on my inner wrist, but am concerned. I'm down 100lbs, with 100 to go. Do you all think inner wrist will be OK if I do it now? Or do you think I should wait?

I think the inner wrist should be okay. It better be, because I've got an appointment on July 29 to get a butterfly on my inner wrist/forearm =P I'm holding off on getting my back done, and waiting on the one I want on my chest until I reach goal (and see if I need plastics or not...I don't want to lose part of my tattoo because I was too impatient to wait)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
