Hi everyone...I'm 5 days post op and overall it's going pretty well. I am hard core struggling to get in both the 70 g. Protein and required Water though. I know they say not to graze but isn't it necessary to sip all day on Protein Drinks and protein Soups to get it all in at first? What did you do early on

?

EArly on, getting the hydration is top priority. I would ask your surgeon or NUT but those first few weeks I was on liquid and I sipped small quantities of Protein drinks all day long. It was later that i structured more around meals.

Longer term you absolutely MUST avoid grazing to maximize your results.

i was told for the first 2 wks to eat or drink just about every hour that i was awake. it was necessary too, the first few days especially when drinking was hard.

now i'm on to puree and trying to have Breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner and a Protein drink before bed. waters in between. doing good.

My surgeon and nutritionist has me on a liquid only diet for 3 weeks. I drink a small amount of Protein Shake if I get hungry. He seems more focused on me healing internally than getting in food. I also drink 64 oz of non-caloric liquid a day. I've been doing really well and I have dropped over 20lbs in 2 weeks. . . But I'm interested to see what happens to that weight loss when I add soft solids to my repertoire.
