InfiniteButterfly 438 Posted July 11, 2014 I hit my first stall between week 2 and three. It lasted about a week, and was annoying. I wasn't able to do much exercise other than walking, and I was only taking in 400-600 calories daily. Once I made the transition to soft foods, and therefore a few more daily calories, the weight started marching off again. Now, at eight weeks, I've been stalled for the past week. I'm between 700-800 calories a day (no possible way to take in more, because I physically can not eat more.) I get about 10k steps daily (that's a mix of cycling and walking, but since Fitbit measures everything in steps, that's what I measure with. I cycle for 30-60 minutes four or five days a week, the rest of it's straight walking). My off days, I still hit around 6k steps. And I lift light weights three days a week. So I'm hitting the calories, hitting the exercise. I know stalls happen, and I know how frustrating it is. Especially when I do measurements too, but they also don't seem to be moving =P But I fit into size 18 clothes yesterday, so I know something is shifting somewhere. I haven't worn size 18 in nearly 20 years. I've been in all 22-24s. So that's a big plus. Bigger plus: the 18s I bought aren't tight. I could probably have dropped down to a 16, but I was a little wary of going too far down. I'm not really meaning to complain. I've lost enough that I'm feeling better than I have in years, I'm more active than I've been in years, I'm sleeping better, off most of my meds, so I have nothing to actually complain about. Other than those stubborn, stubborn scales. 4 tiffnichole76, Sleeving it behind, MistyAnnMoon829 and 1 other reacted to this
Wynnie 186 Posted July 11, 2014 @@InfiniteButterfly, I'm right there with you, sitting in my second stall. My first was at the 2 week mark and now I'm into my 5th week and viola, no loss, stuck, but like you I keep moving and grooving! Still frustrating to be sure. Also like you getting more calories isn't gonna happen soon, I can only eat so much.
MRhynard11 41 Posted July 11, 2014 Just wanted to tell you that I'm inspired by you! Keep it up- stalls happen to everyone and remember that it's scientifically impossible for you not to continue to lose weight if you keep living your life the way you are now. 4 MistyAnnMoon829, Sleeving it behind, mentalistfan and 1 other reacted to this
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted July 11, 2014 Good news is that a year or two from now you won't even remember your stalls... 4 HealthyNewMe, mentalistfan, tiffnichole76 and 1 other reacted to this

Have a great weekend! 2 tiffnichole76 and Wynnie reacted to this
wilsonjul 4 Posted July 14, 2014 This has been so helpful...I weigh on Mondays and this morning had only dropped 1 pound. I was really disgusted until I read some of the comments and realize this is normal, whatever normal is. I have been walking but not enough. I know I need to kick up my excersize routine. tiffnichole76 36 Posted July 15, 2014 I have a question. What if I'm only drinking 2-3 Protein Shakes and maybe 1/4 cup of Soup plus Water or unsweet tea.....tomorrow 3 weeks post op. Is there a such thing as taking in too little calories? I also walk 3-5 miles daily.....weight loss slow
Wynnie 186 Posted July 16, 2014 I would say your intake of shakes and Soup is great for the 3 week mark. Just also make sure you are taking in your 64 ounces of daily fluids. As to needing to take in more calories for more weight loss, there is science behind this, but at the 3 week mark you can only intake so much. Check with your nut, they will have solid feedback for you and your progress. FYI 17 pounds lost at 3 weeks is great! 1 tiffnichole76 reacted to this
InfiniteButterfly 438 Posted July 16, 2014 After a week-long stall, it finally broke with a 3-lb loss Yes, I'm very happy I'm losing again. But then, I know I stayed true to the course through it as well. It does help to talk about it and see that others are going through the same things. (And @@CowgirlJane I can't wait until stalls are a distant memory Looking forward to that.) 3 tkauhi, Wynnie and tiffnichole76 reacted to this
fezik23 240 Posted August 27, 2014 I am in the same boat. I hit my 2 month anniversary on Monday 8/25. This morning I am UP 0.8 lb. I do believe it is the fact that I have been introducing carbs on the form of fruit (encouraged by my dietician) and Beans, which I love. So I am eliminating carbs from today on, as much as possible. I think carbs make me retain Fluid, which is the last thing I need. I don't get as much exercise as some, but I do cardio at least 4 days/week, and I am beginning strength training in the form of resistance bands
