conner281 2 Posted July 11, 2014 Reaching out here because I'm at my wits end with stomach pain. To make a very long story short, I am having extreme pain in my left side of my abdomen and back every night starting at 5pm and ending in the morning around 6am. This has landed me in urgent care and two ERs and a hospital stay in the past week. I've seen doctor after doctor and no one knows what's wrong. Waiting to see a GI specialist. I was discharged with narcotic pain meds to control it and those don't even work. Totally fine during the day. No problems eating or any other classic lap band complications but my surgeon is not ruling out lap band issues.... Has anyone had this? It's like clock work and I dread every evening. I met with my surgeon today and unfortunately his solution involved going to an ER and hospital that are not on my insurance. Any advice appreciated. The pain is constant, intense and travels throughout my left side. Ruled out OB issues, kidney stones, gallbladder, etc with a CT scan. All bloodwork normal. BandedMi 13 Posted July 11, 2014 That's very odd. I'm sorry, I have no experience with this. Could it just be the way you are sitting, bending? Or is it internal? Are you resting enough? Hang in there, you are doing all the right things getting care. Keep us posted!
wonderpooh2u 33 Posted July 12, 2014 Any liver problems? I know for about a week, I was really sore (painful sore, to where I was miserable unless I stretched completely out on my recliner). My husband told me being the surgeon has to go under your liver, it leaves it, and the muscles, sore. I was discharged with Dilaudid for pain, and I would take it at night to help. I noticed the pain was worse on days when I really did more than I should've. Have you been pretty active? Like you, I haven't had any issues like some do post-op, so I was doing a lot more than I was to advised to (because I'm stubborn like that lol). And I paid for it! I was down for the count for about 3 days. I hope your surgeon and doctors can figure it out. Just remember, there was a lot of moving and shifting and bloating going on in there. I hope it's only temporary... Hang in there!
