Sleeved this morning, I only had one wave of nausea that subsided fairly quick. I told my son that it feels like I'm uncomfortably full, not pleasant, but tolerable. And I don't feel hungry at all. We'll see how it feels tomorrow, I start taking pills vs IV and start Clear Liquids. I'm pleased with how it went, glad people will start seeing less of me! =)

Great to hear!!!

Today I tried to add the Vitamins required after surgery (multi Vitamin, B 12, Iron, Omega 3, Calcium, etc) and today is the first day I have had nausea. I was sleeved 6 days ago and I have felt GrEaT! Until today...tonight I feel like my stomach is just flipping so I am just sipping Water trying to get it to settle. Anyone else feel this way?

Just got home from hospital...it feels so good to be home. The IV was my biggest nuisance and of course the constant blood draws and iv meds...I'm not a good patient. So glad to hear all these good reports!

Hi Halloweenbaby24,

Honestly not that great...the pain med they sent me home with tastes nasty. I'm having trouble sleeping but I know that this too will pass.

I threw up too and have bad nausea. It's pretty yuck. Just working on keeping my liquids down.

Thanks for checking in! How are you feeling?

I know you wrote you were in pain. It's a weird kind of pain isn't it?

Quick 1 week post op update.... I had surgery 9/3. Since then I have little to none pain. If it is then its the left side of my abdomin where the stomach was taken out. I have lost 9 lbs from the day of surgery until now. Total lost since my pre op appointment is - 20 lbs. Im not having much of an appetite at all. I have a craving for Gummy candy, fruit, and chicken fajitas! Its still hard to get all 60 gm of Protein in im only able to get in 30 gm from a Premier Protein shake if that. Any suggestions on how to get all the necessary protein in?

@@barbclay the pain meds are the hardest to get down, I tried 2 last night as prescribed but I almost puked so I've been sticking to one if I need it. I feel like I'm doing pretty well as far as liquids go, still not hitting that 64oz goal but am getting about 30oz a day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
