Not enough hours in a day

Recommended Posts

There just hasn't been enough hours in a day that I can fit everything needed! By the time I finish Breakfast with no drinking 30 min after, then it is time for Protein, no drink 30 min before lunch, then wait 30 min after, then protein again, then the same for dinner! I have found that I am too full if I drink my Protein Shakes or run out of time so I usually skip the protein..... I cannot even concentrate at my job because I'm spending more time thinking of my sleeve. Any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat! My rules are no drinking 90 minutes after a meal. That's 4.5 hours in a day when I can't drink! Then I put off eating because I haven't drank enough...so I totally get your situation.

The only thing that has helped me, even though I still struggle a ton, is setting a timer on my phone the minute I start to eat. That way I know exactly when I can start to drink again. Otherwise, 2-3 hours could go by without me thinking about my liquids.

Can't wait to hear other suggestions!

Honestly, as time goes on it's gotten easier for me to manage drinking/eating and spacing everything out. I've gotten comfortable with the foods I can eat that make me feel the best and drinking spaced out that prevents me throwing up said food. Be patient with yourself and the process and it'll happen :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
