grro 2 Posted July 11, 2014 I totally understand. I couldn't quit before surgery either. As a matter of fact, I had 3 the morning of the surgery. However, I quit after the surgery. I was so scared of infection. As a result, when I tried to smoke, I didn't inhale it to my lungs, which means the smoke stayed in my mouth. It was so disgusting, I hated it. I got upset few times later and lit up a cigarette. However, I made sure not to inhale it and I was disguised again. I am smoke free since end of May. It hasn't been easy since my mind wants it but I found the technique to hate it once I cave in. 1 VSGAnn2014 reacted to this
irisheyesrsmylng 1 14 Posted July 11, 2014 Thanks for responding grro. I quit before surgery. I bought a pack recently then realized my mistake and threw the pack out with soap on it. I had been asking my neighbor for 2 cigs here and there so I wouldnt buy a pack but o bought a pack tonight. I regret it in my heart but I spent the money again I guess I should throw it out again

okaykay 7 Posted July 13, 2014 Oh man I wish you the best of luck! I'm so scared that I'll smoke again after surgery. Try to really think about what an investment you have already made in yourself with your surgery and how you are living such a clean healthy life and smoking is an unhealthy, toxic thing that our bodies hate (I'm half talking to myself right now lol). Or if thinking of yourself won't work, try to change your motivation. If you have kids, think of how it may better them, or how you will seem more professional at work w/o smelling like smoke. I am starting newborn photography and I know that once I do, I can't smell like smoke EVER, so I have no other option. Make a list of why it is important you do this and keep it with you, or a list of pros and cons. Seeing that long list of cons might make you at least smoke less. If you want/can try the gum, Patches, lozenges(seems best). They help a lot of people, but in my experience they don't help me much. Truly, I wish you luck and I know you can do it!!!!!! In a year, you will be so happy you did 1 VSGAnn2014 reacted to this
