What if I do not get my referral?

Thank you everyone for your input. I will go to my doctor appointment on the 16th and see what he says. If he does not want to do it, I will just find a doctor who will.

My PCP was totally on board so I was lucky in that aspect. But I believe that here in Michigan thru Beaumont's Weight Control Center they have all the doc's on board you need to get the appropriate paperwork. Maybe check to see if there is something similar in your area.

I decided to give my pcp the chance to say yes or no before I found another doctor. I am glad that I did give him that chance. I met with my pcp today and he realized I was serious about having the weight loss surgery when I had a folder full of all of the information that I received from an informational meeting. He sent the referral to the surgeons office and I should be getting a call soon to schedule an appointment. I am so excited. I thought that getting the referral from my doctor was going to be hard. This is it. It is real. I finally have the steps started.

Thank you! It is a big relief. I am so excited that the process has finally begun. It is no longer just a thought in my mind.
