Barium swallow after surgery

U drink a shot of stuff quick and they look at it on a screen working its way through. Takes about 5 minutes, and it doesn't taste bad at all

oh, ok. Is that all? whew! Does it hurt going down? They keep telling us we're supposed to take sips of anything we drink. I've heard of barium swallows needing to drink a lot of liquid and I just couldn't fathom that, but that wasn't with bariatric surgery so I was hoping it would be much easier!

No it doesn't hurt at all! Yeah the nurse said thus is the only time we tell u to chug lol but no worries it's a piece of cake

I only had to take a small sip -- not very much at all. It doesn't hurt at all and it doesn't taste great but it's not as nasty as some Protein shakes! You stand in front of the xray machine, drink a little and they film how it goes down. Try to get a look at it if you can -- it's pretty cool to watch.

oh good. Thanks ladies. That's one less thing I don't need to have anxiety about.

I'm still trying to get my house cleaned before my stupid in laws come next week and before the carpet cleaner guy comes on Monday or Tuesday. I just don't have the motivation to do it. Had a hard time falling asleep last night (2am) because I kept thinking about this whole drastic stomach rearrangement, and if we're doing the right thing, and if we just keep eating right and excersizing then maybe we don't need to do this because we are losing weight, blah blah blah. But we've been there done that and were at the biggest we've ever been. So I just keep coming on to this site and reading positive stories and no regrets

I had an upper GI this morning. They have greatly inproved th liquid you drink. Also had an ultrasound of my gallbladder. Nothing to that.
