Lite'N'Sweet 60 Posted July 10, 2014 Did anyone have SILS installation (single incision laparoscopic surgery: )? that's what they're doing tomorrow for my surgery and I'm wondering if it's the same issues with gas and discomfort. They're going to manage all the ports through an incision in the belly button. They're also going to use a Realize band which I understand is different port-wise than the Allergen port. Anything anyone can share with me about either topic is greatly appreciated!!

Lite'N'Sweet 60 Posted July 10, 2014 Thank you for responding @@NolansNana! Did you experience the whole gas in the shoulder thing? Was your port site super sensitive after the surgery? Does it "get in the way" or do you constantly feel it? Thank you for sharing your experience with me!
NolansNana 210 Posted July 11, 2014 Yw. The port was tender but not incredibly painful. I put and ice pack on my incisions and that helped a lot. Yes I did get the gas pains in my left shoulder blade. For me that was what causes the majority of my pain. My heat pad helped that but it did last for several days. I used phazyme for gas. Day 3 was the worst for me. Just walk as soon and as often as you can. Keep us updated and God bless.
The Icy One 518 Posted July 11, 2014 I have the good old Allergan AP Lap Band and my port is in my abdomen. Above my navel, a little to the left. Funny mini NSV, I have lost 60 pounds and now, if the waistband of my pants is over my port, it is uncomfortable. And, I was FINALLY able to feel the damned thing with my fingers, where before, I couldn't. 2 NolansNana and Lite'N'Sweet reacted to this
