dawnnae123 3 Posted July 10, 2014 I I have been approved for my surgery for over 3 to 4 weeks now and I have been waiting on the Doctors office to call me with a date for the hospital. I feel very frustrated with the BMI center I leave messages and emails and seem to be ignored. Any one else have this problem with Dr Cottom and Dr Richards office
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted July 10, 2014 Can you change doctors? The bells and whistles go off for me when doctor's offices cannot or do not respond promptly - it speaks of inadequate staff and possibly a mill-like attitude to their patients. 1 #9grammy reacted to this
SherB 220 Posted July 10, 2014 Yes, that seems excessive to just be given a surgery date. Typically, the surgeons office tries to get you on the schedule right away even if it s a few months out. At least you would have some idea. That sucks!
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted July 10, 2014 My bariatric team was spot on to reply quickly to my questions and emails.....same day. I agree with SherB, An effective team will not leave you dangling in mental anquish and worry. Be proactive. 1 #9grammy reacted to this
Buddah 11 Posted July 11, 2014 I turned in my paperwork for BMI of Utah and they consulted with my insurance and called me to set up an apt the very next day. the Apt is 4 weeks away because they are really busy during the summer. I have had friends go through them and not have an issue with scheduling their surgery date. Sorry that you are waiting.
dawnnae123 3 Posted July 11, 2014 I wish it was that easy I am left messages with the scheduling coordinator several times and the Dr rescheduled my date once already and now I feel like I am just chasing someone to just talk to me.. I was told to start the two week post op diet just in case they get me a date for the LDS hospital but I have a feeling I Am going to have to do it all again because of no date set.
