NikkiMoore 3 Posted July 10, 2014 I'm 2 weeks post-op and having muscle cramps in my hands, legs and feet. Is this normal?
NYCkindofgirl 62 Posted July 10, 2014 A lot of people have them, however they often indicate that a nutrient is missing. You should check with your doctor. I am taking an extra magnesium supplement. I also have to do some stretching exercises for my legs before bed. Your doctor should be able to advise you. Hope you feel better soon. 2 BeagleLover and RJ'S/beginning reacted to this
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted July 10, 2014 Excellent advice @@NYCkindofgirl Couldn't have advised better myself......I use a cooling gel sometimes and it helps to stop the heat that comes with these cramps. Or a nice long hot bath! 1 NYCkindofgirl reacted to this
MrDel 4 Posted July 10, 2014 This is most likely your potassium & magnesium. Are you on full liquids yet? banana smoothie should help.
Sleeving it behind 10 Posted July 10, 2014 Muscle cramps are also a symptom of dehydration. Are you able to meet your fluids for the day? Hope you start to feel better soon. 1 Mrs.RRn reacted to this
Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted July 10, 2014 Usually dehydration causes muscle cramps before electrolytes would. Try rehydration until you can get to your doc for blood work. Good luck!!
NikkiMoore 3 Posted July 10, 2014 Since I've started on soft foods (2 days) I haven't been drinking as much fluids as I was.
