I never feel full. I feel as if I could eat anything and everything. I sometimes joke with myself and say the sleeve was never done. It just amazes me I never feel full. I am now on pureed foods 2nd week.

I am able to drink all my Protein Shakes and 64 ounces of Water no problem. Will I ever feel full. The only reason I stop eating because I think I should. Any suggestions? What is going on with me.

It's because everything you're taking in is liquid or pureed right now. Plus, you may be getting full and just not be recognizing your new "full" signal because it's different than before surgery. Use this time to get acquainted with your new, much smaller stomach.

You WILL feel full when you get to solids. Don't rush to get there! Your sleeve needs to heal!

When you do get to try solids, be CAREFUL - eat slowly, chew thoroughly, and wait a bit after each swallow to make sure your sleeve is ok with what you just sent down.

Best wishes.

I think almost everyone feels this way. Just wait until you eat solid food. You'll be amazed at how little actually fits in your stomach. :) Just keep your portion volume in line with what your surgeon recommends for your stage and you'll do fine.

I know how you feel. I was sleeved on 06/23/14 and I was worried that my sleeve was broken because I could drink a 16 oz bottle in less that 5 minutes. Getting my liquid in has been no issue. I emailed my Nutrionist and she told me to calm down, that my intake of liquids was awesome and that we are all different. I may have less swelling than most people, which is a good thing. Does that mean I've been good, not all the time. I've experimented with a slice of pizza and was depressed when I ate it and didn't have to hurl. The thing is I'm not hungry and so I've been able to follow my liquid diet. But eating isn't the same, I'm stopping because I know I should, but the warm being full to almost bursting is gone. I understand that I may never have this feeling again, but my smaller stomach means I need less food. It's a life altering change that I'm struggling coming to terms with. . ,

Just hold out until you get to the 'normal' food stage. You will know when your full or over full, and you will pay for it. Not a good feeling at all. I was the same way with liquids, I still comsume 120-150 ounces of Water a day. But 3 small spoons of tuna salad and im finished. Be patient, fullness is coming.

I'm five months out and I have a problem with some foods. I can eat certain foods and not feel full until the damage is done. I'm talking about the bad stuff. I'm able to eat a lot bigger portions as well on everything. chocolate, ice cream, and cheese puffs will go down a little too well, so I have to avoid having them in the house. I have to make a concerted effort to stay away from certain things and measure the rest. It will slow your progress as well as I speak from experience. Everyday is still a food struggle for me. I do get hungry unfortunately it's not head hunger or acid. Two hours after I eat...bam...hungry! I know I will never be able to eat the portion sizes I once did, but it scares me that I can eat as much as I do sometimes. Most people don't have this issue, I'm just one of the unfortunate ones that do.

I think the best food for me personally is any form of Protein. It stays in your stomach the longest. chicken, tuna, salmon, cheese, Greek yogurt. And, don't drink after eating when you get to solid food! It flushes the food out fast and you want to eat again much sooner. I know why that rule was put in place. I'm really trying, but I still struggle everyday. Food, evidently, was my drug of choice and I need to deal with it.

I was just like you after surgery, could drink the 64 oz of liquid with no problems. Liquids slip right on through where as food kind of sticks in your sleeve for a while.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
