I had a coupon and was going to try them but if I remember correctly they had quite a bit of sugar alcohols and I didn't want to risk the stomach issues they can cause.

I use these rather frequently. They haven't given me any trouble - their carb count is around 22 or 23 so if/when I eat one, I'm careful with my carbs the rest of the day. They taste good however and I can only get through 1/2 of one at a time. Try one and see how it makes you feel!

Begging the obvious.......any reason to use these over Quest? I've been using quest since surgery and no sugar alcohols.....just Fiber and Protein

Ok...yes....I know...there are some negligible sugar alcohols.... But in the realm of 5g or less.......

I saw the Think Thin (before I managed to find Quest), and I was wary of the sugar alcohol as well (sugar alcohol never agreed with me pre-surgery, and I don't want to risk it post-surgery).

I do quite like the Quest though...I can only do half at a time, but they're tasty, and about perfect for after a walk or bike ride.

I find Think Thin bars a bit dry for me. I used to eat them occasionally pre-surgery but I always needed Water with them. I'm afraid to try them again now for that reason. I really do like the Quest Bars (Cinnamon Roll, Cookies and Cream, and Apple Pie are my faves)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
