isn't that the taro?

That's what I thought it was originally but someone looked at the photo and said the Taro was a flat thing. I probably misread/misunderstood.

I don't believe I have ever heard of Taro before Veggie chips.

I just like this stuff for when I want salty/crunchy. It's a much better bet than what I used to reach for.

Sorry, but I missed something. What Snacks are you talking about? They sound interesting. Where can you get them?

By the way, I finally received my order 2 weeks later. Not too bad I guess, but I still don't like the fact they didn't respond to my calls.

Oh, well. I'll probably try them again, if I like the samples I got from them.

Our surgeries are June 11th and I'm really nervous about making sure I have all that we need for at least 2 weeks after surgery.

Okay, I read back a few pages and found the website you were ordering from. Bubble, you said you aren't a fan of fruit, but these were good? I don't care that much for fruit myself, but I'd like to try them. Just wanted to get some feedback on the taste from anyone else who has tried them.

Oh, and I ordered the veggie chips.. I've never been a fan of dried fruit, but I thought maybe this 'gourmet' place would make em better, plus never had most of these things dried...

I got the canteloupe, cherries, apple rings, banana chips.. and walnuts for fiance.

Awhile back I ordered a variety of Protein products from bariatriceating and I am finding that I just don't use them. If you are interested, I will ship them to you at 1/2 cost. I have chocolate pudding and Isopure drinks. You pay shipping at cost. Send me a PM or email to me at house11812@yahoo.com

Jeri, Seattle

I have a hunch you'd have to pay someone to drink the IsoPuke. That's some nasty stuff.

Sorry you don't like the products, BariatricEating.com is pretty expensive. I still have the pudding from my post-op days. I never had the guts to try it.

Do you normally like fresh or canned fruit? I was just wondering, I was thinking about ordering some of the dried fruits too, but I'm not too fond of raisins. I know that's probably a stupid statement, but is the consistency of the fruits (like the pineapple and the blueberries) like raisins? Do they taste like the fresh fruits taste?

I know these sound like stupid questions, but I'd like some input before I order them. I do like fresh pineapple, peaches, apples, blueberries, etc, but I just wondered if these tasted like that.

I hope this makes sense.....duh:faint:

To me, it's a little bit different taste than fresh fruit. But it isn't like raisins, either. You know, the kind of gritty texture that raisins get? None of the ones I tried had a texture like that. (Well, other than the pears, and that was just because pears are naturally gritty.) The apples have a really neat texture to me, sort of foamy, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I liked them. The Angelino plums and the peaches are REALLY good. The cantaloupe is pretty good, too, once you get past the initial texture (to me, it had the texture of Gummy fruit slices, sort of crunchy at the beginning and then soft). Everything is much sweeter than when they are fresh, though. I am satisfied with just eating a piece or two of it at a time.

Does anyone have a really good substitute for non-dairy coffee creamer? It's the one vice I'm completely unable to give up. I've tried several Protein and whey powders and so far nothing even touches it. I'm ashamed to admit at work I use 8 packets in a 16 oz cup and our whole office runs on caffeine all day long. Nothing smells better than a fresh pot of coffee when it's being brewed and when that happens I'm just like an alcoholic ( I think ), absolutely unable to ignore the craving. I'd really appreciate anyone's input on this.

Thanks!

Sorry, I've never been able to drink coffee. I think it smells wonderful, but it tastes disgusting to me. The only way I've ever been able to drink it was with lots of sugar and lots of cream. Although, I LOVE chocolate covered espresso Beans.< /p>

I think cofee is really nasty too. I am glad I never got started on it. My daughter orders coffee flavored Protein Drinks that she really likes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
