That's what I was saying earlier on this thread, they said it's taro.. and I love love love taro.. BUT it's just like a potato chip..which is why I was curious the nutrition on the vegie chips.. Taro is a root, we use to import taro chips from hawaii.. so was wondering if it's just how it was made that it was not very good nutritionally, or if that's just how taro is..

I'll call the company on Monday because if the nutrition is ok with me, it sounds really damn good.

Well I googled it, maybe it's not too bad.

http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c21T1.html

10 chips is (23g) is 115 calories, 16g of carbs, 1g of sugar.

And the picture of the veggie pics, look like small round pieces of taro.. the potato chips are about half the size of my hand.

Are they dried or baked, or are they fried? If they are dried or baked, it probably isn't too bad for you, since you probably wouldn't be eating that much of it.

10 chips are 115 calories? Plus more than one gram of carb per chip? I think I will have to pass. I have to save my carbs for things that make me go potty.

Like strawberries and other yummy fruits. I limit my carbs to 30 per day.

They aren't fried, either baked or dried.

I don't eat the sweet potato things, won't be eating the taro either.

Hey, Bubble, I got my stuff today! I've tried some of it, but not all, yet. The plums that I got are delish! The cantaloupe is actually surprisingly good, too. I'm not super-fond of the pears, though. They're a little too sweet for me. They may grow on me though, because they have a pretty good after-taste. It's just the original texture that throws me off. I've not tried anything else yet, but I'm pretty happy so far. I bet the chocolate espresso Beans will be yummy!

My god, Bubble, I want to kiss you. :sleep:dance: These veggie chips are awesome! Just eating these makes the whole order worthwhile. I wish I had gotten more, now. They're wonderful, yet I am satisfied with just a small handful.

I like them too. When I want potato chips or Fritos, this does the trick for me. I LOVE the green Beans, aren't they cool? Lightly salted, hits the spot. Yet not the fat and calories of potato chips.

I really like this stuff. So glad you enjoy them. I plan to continue buying them.

What are the brown sticks?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
