Kitt3000 757 Posted July 9, 2014 Hello Tamara! Usually your doc tells you to go back to shake, purée for a couple of days after a fill . If you are doing that, you may be eating or drinking too fast. Your stoma may be a little irritated after a fill so going slow and easily digested foods should help if it's not too tight. Your doc is the first person to ask. Did he give you a texting phone number? 1 2muchfun reacted to this
TheBet1969 9 Posted July 9, 2014 You are either eating too fast, or to big of bites or maybe the food is too dry. It's getting stuck. Do you feel discomfort in your band? I'm a year and a half out and that happens to me from time to time. I'm actually going for an unfill on Friday.
2muchfun 8,927 Posted July 9, 2014 My doctor requires 24 hours liquids or Soups. No chewing. Then slowly work back into solids. Your phlegm is what we call slime. When food gets stuck in your pouch your esophagus creates phlegm to allow the food to slide through your band/stoma. Try very hard not to throw up. Throwing up can cause band slips. You may be PBing(productive burps) instead of vomiting. Vomiting also will cause additional swelling. 1 terrydumont46 reacted to this
Tamara Garrison 1 Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks! That helps a lot. My Dr did say soft food the next few days. I didn't get a text #. I will ask when I go back.
cheyenne000 7 Posted July 19, 2014 You might try warm liquids for the rest of the day, start out tomorrow with warm tea and I would try warm Soup for tomorrow. If that goes good then try soft foods. When I had a fill I stayed on warm liquids for 24 hours.
