SherB 220 Posted July 8, 2014 Can anyone tell me when their doctor said it was ok for them to drive after surgery? I am trying to make plans for my daughter in advance. Thanks!
par1959 470 Posted July 8, 2014 I drove a car 3 days following surgery. I took me about 5 days before I felt comfortable riding my motorcycle. Got to let all the drugs purge. 1 SherB reacted to this
tnpeach 41 Posted July 8, 2014 I was able to drive three days after the pain pills were out of my system. That is about four or five days after surgery. 1 SherB reacted to this
Sleeving it behind 10 Posted July 8, 2014 My surgeon told me I could drive as soon as I was off any of the pain medications. 1 SherB reacted to this
mwestcons 9 Posted July 8, 2014 Two things about driving - you should be off narcotic pain meds for about 24 hrs before driving (many people can cycle off the meds within a day or two of leaving the hospital) and you need to be comfortable twisting around in the drivers seat to check your blind spots, etc. I was also driving on the 3rd day after being released.
