Want everyone to know you can restart again if you have a fall. My band was put in 4 years ago and after loosing 80 I put 50 back on slowly. Found new doctor who taught me how this thing works, I am green and loving it. I am as excited as the day I first started. I have list 28 pounds in 28 days. Feel great and new, and not hungry. This site has also kept me motivated, thank you all and we will all be in the green together..

Yippee! Isn't it great having that appetite monster shut down? Congratulations on finding a new doctor and getting to the green zone. So glad you're here on the forum.

Congrats!! I too fell off the wagon and my band was put in 10 years ago this October! WOW!!! Can't believe it's been that long!! :)

In last two years I've gained 45 lbs....so finally found a doctor who is putting me back on the straight and narrow. Just had the endoscopy done to check my band area a week and a half ago. First fill in 5 years on Monday!!! YES!!!!!

Congratulations on starting over. I am here because I want to start over too! My band was put in 5 years ago. I always had trouble getting the right fill. I would either be too tight or not tight enough. My doctor had a revolving door type office, so I never had true confidence in the band. I have not gone in for a fill in over 3 years. My weight is creeping back on.

Those of you who have switched doctors please tell me how that works. I have been told that most Bariatric Doctors will not accept you if they did not preform the surgery. I'm looking for a doctor in the Houston area. Any suggestions?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
