Mine was in a surgical clinic that normally does "day surgeries". Due to my sleep apnea, I had to spend the night and be monitored. I am really happy I wasn't in a hospital, but the clinic is right next door to a major hospital so I felt quite secure.

Everyone stayed at least two nights at my hospital regardless of surgery, period. Those were just per Northwestern Memorial's Bariatric Center guidelines. I felt fine. I stopped using the pain meds the same day of the surgery. I basically spent two days watching Bones and Castle reruns on TNT.

I was really ready to come home the second day, but my hospital's bariatric program requires three. I never touched the television, but I did get quite a lot of uninterrupted reading done :D The nurse was a lot less intrusive than the kids' "Hey mom!" every five minutes. If it weren't for the freaking shots and the IV, it would have been a nice mini-vacation.

Well, it was nice not to have the cat pouncing on my tummy and meowing at me at 4am. But the nurses and staff came in all the time taking my blood sugar and whatnot!

All I can think that this decision for an out patient procedure was decided by my insurance due to me having no other issues other then a BMI of 41.

Thankfully after my surgery my 4 year old daughter will be staying down with my mother in MD for a week, So I'll be able to get plenty of rest.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
