Stanhope 9 Posted July 8, 2014 Hello to everyone! I had my sleeve done on Wednesday (July 2nd) and feel like I have been extremely lucky. The first few hours coming out of anesthesia were nothing short of agonizing (and I've been through very painful cancer treatment) but then it subsided by the next day. I haven't had any nausea or pain that wasn't expected - still very sore of course - no gas pain in my arm or chest. I've had no pain or trouble getting fluids in. My main problem is desire. I'm drinking one large Isopure bottle per day to get the Protein in and then what I can to get more fluids - sometimes it's maybe 1-2 cups of tea. I'm walking a lot. Three times a day on a good walk outside with the dog. I am still taking the painkillers though pretty regularly because I can definitely tell when they are wearing off. My only "complaint" is that I have come down with a horrible case of bronchitis that has just knocked me out! Coughing really hurts - today it is turning farther upward and going into my head and sinuses also. I can barely talk. I used the spirometer but guess it didn't work. Did anyone else get a bronchitis? I came home with 9 extra pounds from the IVF so that is coming off slowly - I think by tomorrow it will be gone and I can see if I actually start to lose. I just feel horrible from the bronchitis. I guess I should count my lucky stars that I have been able to get the liquids down - but today I actually started feeling a little hungry. Anyway - was curious if anyone else had upper respiratory issues post-op? Advise for getting off the pain meds? I gotta drive on Wednesday so I have to stop them tomorrow. Hi Stanhope, I am 4 days out and at this point only experiencing a little shoulder and chest pain and a little from the bruising. I went of pain meds 2 days ago but was feeling a little upper respiratory shortness of breath, I feel winded after my walks and trouble getting a deep breath. Did the Dr. give you something for your bronchitis? I hope you feel better soon. I think it's fair to say our bodies have had a lot of stress despite a rather quick recovery. VibrantVirgo 0 Posted July 8, 2014 Hi! I had my sleeve done Thursday, July 3rd. I too feel super blessed because I haven't had any nausea or vomiting. My problem initially was pain/soreness at the major incision site. That's still on going but I only take the pain meds at night to try sleep better. I had difficulty breathing through yesterday; it's gotten better. I have to find a way to get in more Protein consistently. I am beginning to despise the Protein Shakes but will drink any other liquid and sip broth. Good luck with the bronchitis! Try the Vicks mini steamer to help with breathing. When I had bronchitis it really helped to loosen the phlegm and expel it.
