Sometimes I eat too quickly/ mostly because my job forces us to do so- as a hairstylist in a volume salon breaks r few and far between at times.... So ya chomp down when ya can.. a.conners 15 Posted July 9, 2014 I was sleeved on may5 and for the last 2 weeks have been throwing up almost daily. I'm on a post-op research study and clearly am not in the placebo group because when the study meds increased to 3 x/day the nausea began with a vengeance! They are having me take a couple days off from the meds and start again at one a day and see if I'll be ok. The good thing is I've lost 55lbs, and there is a definite difference in weight loss with the study meds than without them. Just not sure own want to be sick in the name of vanity! stasonbtff 18 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) I had surgery May 8th. I did not start throwing up till last week. Threw up 7 times. I believe it was the food and/or combinations. Everything I threw up I had had before but not in the same amounts or combinations. For example, I had a turkey, provolone, spinach wrap, all of which I had separately and fine. But together, no, didn't work well. Came back up within a few minutes of the first bites. Maybe it was the combinations, eating to quickly or perhaps new foods that didn't sit well. I haven't traveled very far since my surgery, I don't know if that would effect your digestion process or not. Hopefully, things will go back to normal for you soon. Forsythia 882 Posted July 9, 2014 I was sleeved on Cinco de mayo. Down 43lbs. I've not had any issues or side effects. I've been going to the gym a lot. Almost 2 hours four days a week. I try to get between 800 and 1200 calories a day. I have the worst time remembering to drink my water! gottagonow 82 Posted July 10, 2014 I was sleeved on May 19, so I'm coming up on week 8. The weight loss is appropriate and gets noticed, which is interesting to watch peoples' faces as they notice the changes but aren't really sure what's up. I don't mind that at all! I do find that since about week 5-6, I literally have to force myself to eat and sometimes I don't do that. I know it's terrible to compare to others, but it's hard when others have lost 45-50lbs from the same week as me. I'm power walking about 4-5 times a week and eating about 800 calories a day. I'm struggling with being creative at meal time. There's only so much meat and cheese a girl can eat!! I avoid carbs/sugars unless it's some occasional fruit. Any advice/recipes? What do you guys eat when you want something sweet? Last night I had 1/4 banana cut up with some PB2 and that was delicious!! whitegerbera 1 Posted July 11, 2014 Sleeved May 12th and now down 47 pounds. I know I'm doing great and have been extremely lucky. I haven't thrown up at all, only get nauseous when taking my Vitamins. But, I struggle to eat. I just really don't care about food and tend to go-go-go all day, so I just don't think about it. I definitely eat at least twice a day and all Protein (less than 6 carbs a day). I'm not walking on a regular basis either, which I really would love to start. She's not an advocate of boards, which is whatever , but she made other valid points and I realized that I get a lot from these boards, but comparisons were ridiculous for me. We are all so unique and frankly strangers. I'm not suggesting anyone else needs to deal with it as I did by any means, but I do hope that it is helpful to know that you are doing just fine - ask your doc! Your meat and cheese comment made me laugh - it is so true! I'm slowly getting more used to my "choices" by flavoring my meats different ways and adding garlic, onions, etc. to make it how I like it. Just now it is not sitting on a pile of pasta! I never really had a sweet tooth but my nut mentioned sugar free fudgsicles. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jodyjetson 72 Posted July 11, 2014 I was sleeved May 1 and I can honestly say I'm so happy. I have had lots of stalls along the way but I am loosing. Yesterday I had lost 42 pounds since surgery. I haven't had a day of nausea, or diarrhea. It's interesting how we are all built differently. I currently am eating whatever I want in small quantities. It's funny though I'm not wanting to eat "bad" foods at all. My calories are just around 750 per day. I don't exercise everyday but do find ways to stay active. And I love eating out too because I spilt small meals with my 4 year old - it's so cheap! I've got a long way to go (another 100 pounds) but I see my future is so bright! hrhlaurie 185 Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Went to dinner and I ate some chicken breast until I got the usual hiccups, burping and rumbling that told me to stop eating. Since we were with friends, I quickly ate a mint so I wouldn't be burping the smell of chicken and what a mistake. I immediately felt sick and it's taken over two hours to recover. So dumb, chewing up a mint and sending it down to full tummy was like sending down a Grenade. Another lesson learned. On the other hand I wore a pair 14w shorts today, down from my former size 20, got rid of a bunch of pants that don't fit any more and I fit, once again, into a pair of favorite jeans that I had outgrown a few years ago. Then after talking to other that had the surgery they say it's normal to feel that way the 1st month. jeninpink 4 Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Hello, My surgery was May 20th. On first day of pre op I weighed 241, 233 the day of surgery, this morning I weighed in at 217.4. I get upset when I see how slow my weight is coming off in comparison to others, but then I realize I am not "others" I am myself and down is down. Slow and steady wins the race right? lol Anyway, I started the Couch 2 5k program last week, and I am beginning week 2 tonight. Last week was a stall, the entire week, didnt lose a lb and now I have lost a lb a day for the last 3 days, ILL TAKE IT! My surgeon set a goal of 180lb for me. Ill get there, then set a new goal. I am lucky that I don't vomit (at least haven't) I do occasionally get hiccups, those can be annoying, but at least its not pain. Sometimes I Find it hard to get my Water in..and thats just pure ignorance and neglect on my part. Any favorite easy "snacks" that you all take to work or out the door with you?
