a.conners 15 Posted July 7, 2014 Please tell me this will pass! Every time I take my daily medication I have to fight vomiting, and it's been a losing battle the last couple weeks. I talked to the doctor on the 25th and was told to try taking mess with milk. Well that just causes even nastier vomit. It's almost to the point where just holding the pills in my hand causes the gag reflex to kick in and I dread waking up in the morning knowing it's time to take my meds. Other than this recent issue, I have absolutely no regrets and am very pleased with my results to date. I just don't want to be ill everyday. I have never been a person who vomits unless I have the flu once every few years, so this is really dreadful! Any reassurance or advise would be most appreciated! Ginger Snaps 1,323 Posted July 7, 2014 Talk to the doctor again. You may need some anti-nausea med to take before trying to swallow the Vitamins and such. Or maybe to go on liquid meds for a while?
maxcimax 220 Posted July 7, 2014 I take 3 or 4 pills 3 times a day. I have found if I mash them up really well I can pour the powder into about 1/2 oz of Apple juice or other juice & quickly drink it. Then I quickly drink more juice to wash the yucky taste down. My gout meds & blood thinner aren't so bad. The 2 heart meds are very bitter. For me it's the thought of downing the meds that makes me want to throw up. Some people put their crushed meds in yogurt or Apple sauce. I haven't tried that yet. I do have a pill crushed & it makes the pills powdery. Good luck with your pills. BeagleLover 1,020 Posted July 7, 2014 I agree with @@Ginger Snaps. Also, have you tried chewable vitamins-- my NUT recommended the kids' Flintstones chewables.< /p>
