Can't Live Without It...

Recommended Posts

I am such a geeky, techy person. I can't live without my treo 750 or my laptop. I also can't live without tivo, Peanut Butter tracks ice cream (bad, I know) my hubby, kids or two dogs!

One other thing I am very appreciative of having is my cell phone. I am going to be relying on it to spread news to the family of my DH's upcoming medical treatment again. I need a new phone...mine is old, and the battery is going to be more than replacing it with an updated model. Now------any suggestions for a phone? One to avoid????

They come in strawberry, too. Get a box of each....let us know which one you like best.

Samsung just came out with a phone called the Jitterbug, which I think is a great concept. It's JUST a cellphone, no email, no camera, no games, nothing else. It's simple, to the point, and very well designed.

I've heard good things about the blackjack. I have the samsung version of the razor which I like, but for my next phone I think I want something that might combine PDA with phone, yet be small enough so that it isn't too big to just stick in my pocket or clip on my belt loop (of course I would have to have the keyboard and touch pen). They are doing interesting stuff with the slide outs and so forth and all that, so I'll wait a while as I'm still rather happy with my phone. Personally I always want more on stuff like phones.

The things I can't live without is the constant great support I get from my husband and my coworkers. Without them I would be nuts.

My Juki sewing machine. I quilt and this is a great must have. I love it.

DaVinci instant cappicino mix. I get it at Albertsons and it is only about 50 to 60 calories of yummy. And my doctor Scholl's walking shoes.

Ok, first off, Carlene, you have convinced me, after work I am going to go get some of those cheerios and try them out.

Back to phones, as mentioned, I am a major gadget geek. I like having my phone, calendar, contacts, tasks, games, weight tracker, expense tracker, weather, internet, messaging, and on and on all on one device. That is why I love my Treo 750. It is smaller than the old treos, and I either tuck it in my pocket or clip it to my pants with a case. I also love watching tv on it when I am stuck waiting in lines and stuff.

Thanks for all the heads up on the phones---plan on making a change tomorrow, I will be out of town for Memorial weekend, and need it to hold a charge for more than 30-45 minutes which is what mine is doing. It is an old Alltel phone---has always been pretty worthless!!! But at the time DH's employer bought it, so I took it!!! This one will be my choice though!

As for the cheerios, strawberry has never been my favorite---I will eat them as they come, the fruit itself, but anything strawberry flavored---no thanks!! So I only bought the one box, and it is packed away for our rally trip this weekend!!!

Thanks everyone!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
