I have been taking over the counter Vitamins since about 2 months post-op. I do not have any trouble taking large pills although I do break any of them that I can, in half. I just could not afford $80 - $100 a month for Vitamins.

I now buy them mainly at Walgreens because they have BOGO free quite often on most of them. CVS also runs the same deals but I prefer Walgreens. I spend MUCH less for my vitamins now. LESS than half the cost. Be careful and read labels so that you do not lose anything along the way.

I just had all of my nutrients checked by the way and everything is within normal limits.

Good luck:)

I use opurity once a day bariatric sleeve chewable. They are approx $30 for 90 which is a 3 month supply. There are days when the taste is too much so I crush them and add them to my Protein Shake or yogurt, etc. They are only avail online.

I did a full comparison, and then talked to and showed my surgeon. The one that has everything needed and compared closest is the Centrum chewables. This has all the Vitamins and the Iron needed for bariatric patients, and it costs much less!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
