snowkitten 371 Posted July 7, 2014 Im curious to know what kind of exercise you all do? How often, how long, how intense?? I know your suppose to walk asap after surgery, but how long after surgery can you start exercising... or IS walking the exercise you do??
Wynnie 186 Posted July 7, 2014 Walking is the initial exercise until your doctor clears you for more activity. At the 2 week mark I was cleared for swimming and non weight lifting gym exercise. I use a sitting elliptical an arm machine and swimming and will incorporate an ab machine after the 8 week mark as until then my doc won't clear me for anything over 20 pounds. Hope this helps but ask your doctor first.
Terribj 208 Posted July 7, 2014 After 6 weeks I started Beachbody - Chalene Extreme. 3 days of weights and 2 days of cardio. I add a day of cardio for something different. It is pretty intense but they always have modifications.I love workouts like this, but find what you like. If you don't like it you won't stick with it. McButterpants 2,846 Posted July 7, 2014 My doc only allowed walking (non-treadmill) till 6 weeks. After that, no restrictions on activity. I walked a lot and did the elliptical at the gym as well as incorporated strength training.

ankinray 17 Posted July 7, 2014 I love spinning class (3 x week) and Pilates. Can't wait to get cleared. Once I drop enough weight I will add a yoga class.
