Countdown to Onederland!

Recommended Posts

I want to join Onederland! I'm a novice to websites/blogs/threads - or whatever you call them!

I was banded March 24, 2008 and have 12 pounds or so to go to onederland! It has been one of my major milestones on my weight loss journey! I can hardly wait!:woot:

I cannot believe I'm actually posting here. Less than a year ago I was over 300lbs and I could not even fathom being in onederland. But here I am today, 4 lbs away from it!!! I was always very overweight since I was a kid. The last time I was under 200lbs was 10 years ago (I was only 11) and I was 5"1! I cannot wait to join all of you in onederland!

I have about 11 more pounds to lose and I hope in the next few weeks I can say I'm a onederland Inspiration. I'm so proud of you all and just by reading your stories I know that one day I too will be there shouting. Keep up the good work. You all keep me motivated. Thanks! This is for you:thumbup:

I did it!! I did it!! I haven't been under 200 lbs since 1996. And even then it was only for a couple weeks and boom, back up I went. This time, it's permanent. Woo Hoo!!

I MADE IT, I MADE IT, I MADE IT!!

First time in probably 10 years that I've been under 200 pounds!

198 this morning.......YEAH.....doing a happy dance here!

Who knew that it would be possible to be so happy about going from extremely obese to merely "obese"......oh ya, YOU GUYS!

It's a good day!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
