For the past about 8 weeks, it seems, I've been bouncing from 215-218. I wanted to be 212 on Sept 4 as that was my anniversary but it didn't work out. Fifteen pounds....that isn't too much to lost to get to wonderland--onederland!! It has been 10-11 years since I was at this weight.

I couldn't wait to finally add to this thread!

I'm 213 right now. I'm so jealous of you all within 5 pounds. 13 seems like forever.

I just got my first fill yesterday and just finished my first solid meal -- all went great and I felt full really soon. The band works!

I was down 1.5 lbs today so I'm at 204.5. Getting closer and maybe my plateau has ended. I got my hopes up a few weeks ago (maybe some of you remember my post about weighing at Curves and balancing at 200 but not being able to balance below that) but then found out (this should be illegal!) that the scales were 7 lbs. LIGHT! How is that for discouraging???? Man, was I bummed. But, they are calibrated now and so I'll settle for my 204.5. Hopefully I can enter ONE-derland by Halloween! We'll see. I'm an awfully slow loser but now I have some restriction (8 fills and 3.3 in my 4 cc band) and am going for another fill on Wednesday. We'll see! Good luck everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
