Countdown to Onederland!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Recently hit onederland and am thrilled. Went from 288.6 in August 2006 to 188 today. Not easy, but I am doing it. You all have done well, and remain a source of inspiration to me. Be well, and do good.

Fran

Congratulations to everyone on their weight loss!

Unfortunately, Drews you have good company. I weigh the same as last week. But remember, we aren't a number. This is a two year process... yadda....yadda....

but soon we'll be bragging with the rest of them.

Hugs and happy week to all of you,

Michelle

Down another 2 lbs today.........................yay me........209 now.

I'm off to WW and then racing, yes racing down to TJ for a slight unfill. I can barely swallow this morning. I puked all day yesterday and the day before. I'm starving. I want food, real food.

I can't even truly do WW since I can't get any food down.

JEN! Definitely go for the unfill - I completely understand the pain you're going through AND the frustration - that was me last week! Luckily I didn't puke, but I could BARELY get fluids down.

Keep us posted and CONGRATS on the 2 lbs!

OMG Drews - we have been conditioned all our lives by the scale. It is really hard to pull away and achieve true self-esteem. I am a novice and struggling.

Okay - now all you veterans - what is the deal with the heart burn feeling I sometimes get? It is kinda like the golfball, but a little different. Should I worry?

Hey guys! :update: Well This morning I weighed and I'm at 200.2!! I'm soooo close to Onederland. Hopefully I'll be there soon!

Fran - Congratulations! You've done an awesome job with your weight loss. You should be very proud of yourself!

Drews and Michelle - You guys are sooo right. It is really difficult to not get all wrapped up in the numbers! I think once I get solidly into Onederland I'm gonna try to start weighing only monthly. I don't relish in what I have lost because I'm always thinking about what I have yet to lose. Every time someone asks me how much weight I've lost I tell them, but I always add "but I've got another -- pounds to lose". I have to stop doing that!

Big As Life - You are really close to Onederland, keep it up and you will be there in just a short while! Good luck!

Paulax - WOW 203! You are kicking butt! Keep it up!

Dynamo - Hey! I'm not sure about the heart burn stuff.. is your esophogus ( sp?) irritated? I had what I thought was a little bit of heart burn in the last couple of weeks, but I finally realized it was sinus drainage making my throat sore. Could that be it? The heart burn usually starts in your chest area. Do you get this feeling after you eat, or when? Don't worry, I'm sure its nothing.

Sarah, you should DEFINATELY Celebrate that you have at least one recorded day in Onederland! I totally understand that you can't really get comfortable until it's consistent (I did the SAME thing!) but you should be so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!! GO GIRL!

Thanks Sarah!! Shoot I celebrated the first time I saw 199!!! It went back up once but came right back down. I Celebrate for everything though, I just love the fact I am losing and haven't been close to 300 in a long time. I can now fit into a 14 (non strechy jeans too) and that is alot better than the 22-24 I was wearing, that was a celebration all in itself.Havent been in a 14 in 8 years. I think it gives me incentitive not to eat too much junk, don't want to go back over 200. Congrats to you Sarah!! and I know I screamed when I saw 199, made everyone in the house come look!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
