WhoKnows 288 Posted July 9, 2014 I had the impression that it's not so much that the pill won't work, as that it's not as much of a sure thing. Still, probably better than nothing. 1 Q2theT reacted to this
Q2theT 17 Posted July 9, 2014 I agree, better than nothing. I just wanted to give the OP a head's up that it was not a foolproof option. There are tons of articles out there about it (and perhaps I should have linked to a different on initially). after reviewing more of them, it seems to boil down to the pills being "significantly less effective" for women with BMIs over 30; the chance of getting pregnant is 4 times more than for a woman with a lower BMI. Just thought it might be helpful information to have. 2 BeagleLover and WhoKnows reacted to this
Scylla 106 Posted July 10, 2014 @@Katnice - how are you doing? Did you talk to your doctor / go to the pharmacy? 2 Q2theT and WhoKnows reacted to this
onlybroomegirl 250 Posted July 10, 2014 Plan B is high dose birth control. If dr didn't want you on pill he probably doesn't want you to take plan B. It's probably far enough post surgery, but why take that risk? Call the dr office back. Tell them it's an emergency. You just had major surgery!! The answering service doesn't need to know what kind of surgery. It's none of their business!! I know it probably doesn't help, but if you just finished your period, you are more than likely not ovulating. Best of luck
KarenF1972 78 Posted July 23, 2014 I'm not meaning this to sound rude - but your surgeon has probably seen and heard it all. You put your life in his (or her) hands to do your surgery. My surgeon has a number listed where the "team" can be contacted at any time. I'm sure it's nothing they haven't heard before - and then you will be given information based on what your surgeon thinks is best.... 1 cutiecake reacted to this
