Hi. I'm new here. My primary recommended me for weight loss surgery. I'm still waiting to find out more information. (How do you post in forum?)

I'm so happy to have found this website. It will definitely be helpful. I'm not sure which surgery option my doctor will choose for me. I'm in the very early process of all of this. As soon as I learn how to post a picture I will post my beginning picture.

Good for you ...taking the first step. My doctor asked which surgery I wanted. I had done all the research and decided on the bypass. Research everything on the different types of surgery then make an educated decision.

Good luck and congratulations....

My advice is simple. Research and learn all there is to know about each surgery. Then make an informed decision. Its your body....your health. Listen to what ur dr says. He is very informed. He has been doing this long enuff to know what surgery works best for ppl. Hes seen it all. But in the ned.....ur still responsible for ur own decision. Dont do anything that is going to result in regret. Make sure its what YOU want. Its ur life.....enjoy and live it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
