Yes am about 10 days out and think folks who are never hungry are blessed. I've been starving at least twice and have to control my intake otherwise I eat too fast and feel horrible.

The first week I was always hungry, especially because I was on a clear liquid only diet. I am one of the people that feels hungry often, I am struggling with that. I just try to have a good Protein snack and it subsides. Also I noticed the more fluids I drink the less hungry I feel. Good luck, hang in there....

Thanks @@DenaD I was hoping that it wasn't just me. I want to eat something so bad but I'm scared I will mess my stomach up, so I'm going wait till Thursday to come off of the clear liquid diet, and move to Soups I can't wait but I will do this the right way. Have you had crackers on the Soup stage

Oh my dear, you're struggling from the worst head game that you've ever been involved with .....you still want food and your brain is still presurgery.....you cannot have crackers too soon ....you will be miserable ....work very very very very hard to continue to taking your clear fluids that'll help so you and follow your doctor's orders...... the head hunger games are brutal and like a demon .....but don't let it defeat you.... you can be strong I promise...... it will go away.. And after you have started to lose some weight and start getting into a routine and you understand how your little tummy works you will be able to eat good healthy regular food with no problem .....food is coming back....

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
