Fallen off the wagon already

Recommended Posts

I had my lapband surgery 25th June and today eaten a load of kit kats I now feel sick and sorry for myself that I have let myself down. And now wonder if this band is actually going to work. When it's filled it's obviously going to help me but I'll still b able to eat chocolate etc... Will I ever have the will power. I hate this thing with food I have.

Hang in there! Everyone has fallen off the wagon at least once. Just get back on and keep trucking. You can do it!

Linsuk,

You screwed up. I bet almost everyone has at some point. All you can do is the best you can. Obviously you cant have the stuff around because it is too tempting. Get it out of your house. I am like that. Eating one of something only leads to another and it is never enough. I always hated that about myself. No little piece of cake or anything, it would only get me started.

If we were able to not eat we wouldn't have needed the surgery but we can not use that as an excuse to do anything we want meantime.

Slap yourself around a little, feel bad and then get yourself back on track. Whats the saying? something about this is a marathon, not a sprint.

We still love ya! Now love yourself and don't get stuck in self pity, we all know what that leads too. lol

Oh my gosh!! Are you telling us you are human!!! You are human and your are not going to eat perfectly all the time. You can have chocolate from time to time so don't think it is out of your life forever, but you can not have it often and can not eat too much or you are eating around your band. A nibble savored brings as much satisfaction as a mouthful. Have great patience with yourself dear. With patience will come perseverance. You will feel better soon and begin to make better choices. We have all been there!

I am miserable right now after a tight fill. Having trouble keeping Water down from the swelling but I know fills can feel too tight after the fill and with the swelling and not keeping water down and having nothing to eat nor Clear Liquids I am pretty miserable right now.........but I can handle anything I know it temporary. Feeling bad after eating Kit Kats is temporary...you will be back on track. Thanks for sharing.

For me, the band is all about shutting down the appetite monster that is telling me to EAT EAT EAT. I cannot believe that it works but it is working. This afternoon I hosted a meeting and some one brought specialty Cookies made by two wonderful ladies who run a bakery in a neighboring town. One of them is French! Anyway, Cookies, seriously? But you know what? I could turn them down. I am seven months out. If I really wanted a cookie I'd eat it, but you know what? I didn't even want one. So who is this new person -- I can't believe it! I did, however, be sure to send off all the cookies with people as they left. I know better than to keep them in the house as I might not be able to resist later. Why tempt myself?

No offense, but you haven't even gotten on the wagon yet in order to fall off....

You'll understand what I'm saying, perhaps in a few months....

Your appetite coming back means you are recovering from surgery nicely...putting you at a place exactly were you were in terms of weight loss before the surgery.....Nothing....

Now the real fun begins, getting you band (and yourself) adjusted so this surgery can start to take on some real meaning....

BTW, my total lack of self control and will power was the primary reason I needed surgery...If I had those things I never would have been obese and would never have needed something as drastic as corrective surgery to my digestive tract....

I know why I had this done....and I won't forget it....

great, you don't have to fret about when/if you are going to let your Belly Beast take command of your body pod.

The real battle comes later, after some degree of success in moving toward your goal.

Now is the time to realize the difference between "HAVING an action plan" vs "DOING something" about your Morbid Obesity.

re: "And now wonder if this band is actually going to work. When it's filled it's obviously going to help me"

It isn't The Band that works, it is YOU that has to work; it's not so much a 'filled band is going to help me' but what you do yourSELF with the Band that makes it work.

We all must find ways to keep from bending our elbows and stuffing our Old Bad Habits. That calls for Action, not remorse.

You can do this; there's thousands of us who have struggled to find our own path.

Cheers on your journey. It's just beginning....and the trip is WONDERFUL!!!!

You don't have to be perfect. No one on this forum is perfect. You're preaching to the choir here.

We've all been there. It is not the first time this has happened, and it probably won't be the last. Use it as a learning experience. Think about how the behavior made you feel so the next time you are tempted, it might just slow you down a bit. Life is all about learning and growing from the mistakes we make (but in our case, we want to shrink!!). Just put it behind you and move on. Today is a new day.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
