Succesful Plateau (If that makes sense)

Recommended Posts

As of this morning, 07/03, I am still down on my weight after my last fill, weeks ago. Am at what I'm calling a 'mini-plateau' at 150.5. Have been here for a little more than a week. Hoping to get past this little plateau, soon. Success though, because a guy friend at work noticed my weight loss!!! That made me happy.

Oh and how could I forget to post this? I fit into a pair of jeans that I've not been able to fit in!!! Have had them in my closet for a year, waiting to fit into them. So, that is all. Now I need to get ready for work. Later...

Whoops. Haven't updated the ticker to the current weight. Am a little more than what the ticker says, but that's okay.

I often find when the scale is not moving that's when the inches are coming off -- redistribution, sculpting, whatever it is it's great! Way to go -- don't worry about the number in the scale and enjoy those jeans.

I think stalling on the scale is still part of weight loss. I have stalled on the scale for 10 days now but kept up with my healthy eating. Then this morning I got on the scale and was down 4 pounds!!! That is the way it seems to go with me. I stall stall stall then all of a sudden I drop 3 to 4 pounds which makes it feel like it happened overnight. That helps motivate me to keep my food intake down because my weight comes off with this pattern. Don't deter from your healthy eating and portions because I am sure you will soon be pleasantly surprised on the scale one morning soon!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
