latido 178 Posted July 2, 2014 Is it possible that my body now thinks that every pill is an entire bottle? I wonder if my new plumbing amplifies every medication because of the different acids. I ask because I wonder if the 1/2 tbs of coffee that I add to my almond milk can be making my body think it's drinking a whole pot (and dehydrating me). Just wondering. kat77 63 Posted July 2, 2014 My body actually seems to not absorb my pills right, nothing seems to work for pain but I think I'm just immune to meds now however, since I am a 1&1/2 years out my thyroid level has had to be reduced. I think a lower body weight has a lot to do with needing less meds. they also did tell me not to drink alcohol because it would get absorbed faster, and it would take less to effect you mentally. I don't drink anymore so I wouldn't know, but those two things I would say could make them feel more powerful.
pookybear 284 Posted July 2, 2014 coffee won't dehydrate you, but you do metabolize things differently now. That's why they tell you to be careful when drinking, you can get drunk off just a few sips.
latido 178 Posted July 2, 2014 Hmmmm. So maybe that why my blood pressure is out of control? It was normal before the surgery, the medication was working well.
pookybear 284 Posted July 2, 2014 It's quite possible that your bp meds need to.be adjusted.
latido 178 Posted July 2, 2014 This is so interesting. I'm headed for my post-op visit with the surgeon. I look forward to kicking this hypertension! Thanks.
