Ya been a while since I've posted. I was banded 10 months ago and down 43 pounds. I lost maybe a pound after a fill. I'm weighing my good and walking every night. I am gettin discouraged. I have about 50lbs more to go.... I'm frustrated and getting discouraged... I don't eat much honestly. What Am I doing wrong? I am hungry right when I wake up... I'm guessing I'm not in my green zone and that should def help... Has anyone else has this issue????? Advice to get past this please :-)

When was your last fill. Sounds like you need one if you're hungy when you wake up. Are you tracking what you eat. I find if I don't track, I don't notice things I eat that really add up. WW's use to call them the BLTs (bites, licks and tastes)

When did you last see your surgeon for a consult or fill?

How many calories do you consume a day and what are you eating?

Do you get hungry between meals?

Great that you're walking and way to go on the loss so far -- sounds like it's time to see the surgeon and discuss a possible fill.

I last had a fill 5 weeks who, I go on the 14 again. I'm going every 6 weeks still. I intake approx 1200 calories a day.. Lots of protein... Very minimal To no carbs... I'm hungry every 3-4 hrs. I do my best with no snacking but when I do it's fruit or Vegis. I weigh and measure almost all food. I stop myself from eating more bc I can if I want too... That's why I've lost a pound and stay neutral then no gaining. Which is positive and I know 43 lbs in 10 months is amazing! I'm not disputing that. Just feel like I'm not losing how I should. Since jan it's really only been 10lbs ish... :-/

Exercise?

It does sound like you could use a small fill if you think it wouldn't make you too tight or get stuck a lot?

I had mine 4 months ago. I feel your frustration although I'd hope at month 10 I'll have lost more. I lost 25 in the first 6 weeks but it pretty much stopped after that. :( I'm not in the "green zone" yet but after my 2nd fill, I can tell a big difference in how much I can eat. Just hang in there,! A friend of mine took 4 yrs to reach her goal. It was slow but steady :) best of luck to you

I have had seven fills -- my surgeon is of the small fills school of thought and I'm glad for this incremental approach but surprised how long it took me to get to this place of true satiety after a very small meal and not hungry again for 4-5 hours (at least). I'm really glad I kept at it as I did this because dieting didn't work for me. I'd be restrictive then eventually give up and gain it all back. The band has taken that appetite away and I'm very grateful. But I had to have so many fills, geesh. And I'm not too tight at all. And if I'm getting nibbly and looking for food or hungry again a few hours later I know I need to go back. But this one seems to be holding well.

I think my surgeon is much like yours. I dream of he green Zone days. I get 0.5 ml each full if I'm lucky. I think I've had 4 fills since January. I think I'm getting there but not quite yet... Staying hopeful

And you will. My surgeon is the same way. I have turned down fills for the last 8 months, because I've been able to manage, but I'm scheduled for one toward the end of the month. I have a hard time getting in to my surgeon cuz he only does fills 2 days a week and one of those days is my hard day at work. So, don't get frustrated, it'll happen.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
