Congrats on being so close to your goal weight! My question for you is how long did it take for you to be able to eat and finish your Protein? I can drink and finish my shakes fine, but to eat the protein once a day is a challenge. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow an have lost 19 pounds since my sleeve day, lost 35 in the 5 months leading up to it. Thanks

  • @Wynnie Im not sure what the question is really, if your drinking your Protein then your getting your Protein. If you asking when or how you will be able to actually eat 60 grams of protein through normal food ... that really depends on you. i started probably after 2nd month. What i did was a combo of both Protein shakes and i started with sliced deli meat and small amounts of ground beef i was sushi was also a good source of protein for me and cheese and milk. I can't tell you that i got in the recommended amount every day, but some how i managed to end up ok i think. The trick is finding a protein source that you can tolerate. I hope this helped in some way.

@Tammylb i started out with skirt steak and that was probably around 4 or 5 months, but tiny bites and very slowly. Lamb cuts should be pretty tender also.

@eversum experiment with Soups, i think its too soon for you but around the 3rd week i started more creamy Soups. I was hungry also but the thought of me doing damage to my stomach was enough to make me deal with it. Now i say this in the most heart felt way but i don't envy the stage your in now at all, you have a tough road , full of mind tricks, and hunger ahead but stay strong and remember why you did this in the first place.

I ordered the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein chicken Soup and that helped a great deal. If you haven't you may want to try them.

Breakfast: toasted lenders mini bagel with egg and cheese. & coffee after. or a Protein shake

Lunch: half a sandwich, white or wheat sliced bread, turkey Tomato. an hour later the other half

Dinner: couple pieces of sushi, 3 or 4.. .or a tiny amount of rice,(2 cooked table spoons) with some stewed veggies on top. or small amount of ground beef. Or half a cheeseburger from like 5 guys (clean burger place aka not wendys or burgerking) and the other half an hour later.

Sprinkle in some Water throughout the day.

I'm sure many will read this and be like wth that's not enough Protein or carbs or whatever. But i stopped counting long time ago. i just eat what feels right.i usually eat every 2 hours but i try to have three main meals.

I'm actually really happy to see that you don't track anymore. My mom had WLS and has been very successful, and she has never tracked anything. She just adds Protein powder to her morning coffee, and figures that covers her protein-wise. I have been tracking, mostly just to see that my Protein grams are at or above 60 per day. Once I can eat enough food that I can be reasonably sure I'm getting enough Protein, I plan on stopping as well. I am of the mindset that I didn't have this surgery in order to be dieting for the rest of my life, I did it so that I'd be able to control my weight like a normal person does - by just eating enough to satisfy me, and making smart choices most of the time.

Slim,

Now that you have hit your goal weight, do you have an excess of loose skin? And if so how do you plan to handle that?

@@Josh2xh I plan on working out harder and hopefully I can tone up if that doesn't work I guess some skin surgery but that is far from my mind now something about that surgery doesn't put me at ease and also it's not all that loose

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
